Hampton Man Crush: Michael Apau

This weeks Hampton Man Crush is the one and only Michael Apau. Micheal is a third year Biology Pre-Med major from the DMV and I had the pleasure of interviewing him this past week. He is the Vice  President of African Student Association, Mr. Mens Caucus and their Community Service Coordinator, member of the Greer Dawson Student Leadership Training Program, and a member of the Minority Association of  Pre-Med Students. He also works in the Universities Proton Therapy Center part-time. He very well may be the busiest man alive, I’m surprised I was able to catch him for this interview!

Hey, Michael how are you?

• I’m doing well, how about yourself?

I’m great! Happy to have you. Let’s get right into it.

So, Michael, what do you love most about Hampton University?

• I love the fashion. Everyday is a fashion show in in the Stu. The type of culture we have is irreplaceable. 

I agree, I need to step up my shoe game up! Now that you’re almost a senior, what are you most anxious for for senior year?

• I am most excited that I don’t have to settle for caf food anymore but I am also excited to see my lil Ogres. 

I know you’re studying Biology on the pre-med track, what do you plan to do with that after graduation?

• I plan to go to med school and study to be a neurosurgeon. 

Cool! So what is something most people don’t know about you? 

•  Don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been writing a novel since my freshman year of high school.

Wooowww. A doctor and a writer? What a talent!

• *Smiles and laughs* Nah man, I’m just trying to get like you.

What do you think is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness? 

• My biggest strength is my understanding nature. I can see most people’s point of view pretty easily. My biggest weakness is by far is my work ethic. I tend to overwork myself too often. 

With our theme being girl boss for the week, what girl bosses have inspired you?

• My mother and older sister for sure. They raised me into the amazing man that I am today. 

Speaking of girl bosses, our good sis Beyonce hasn’t come out with anything for a while. How would you react if she dropped an album tomorrow?

• I’d  put on a bulletproof vest so I can troll the BeyHive on Twitter.

I smell a hater. If not Beyonce, who are your favorite artists?

• Old Kanye,  Burna Boy, JID, and Wale.

And how do you feel about Summer Walker’s most recent album? 

• Her album is a classic to me, but people have been giving her a hard time because of her social anxiety along with  her canceling her tour. I hope she finds peace through it all though. 

Who is your celebrity crush and why?

• Definitely Zendaya because not only is she gorgeous, she’s also tall, so our kids are 100% going to the league. 

Many ladies may be wondering if you’re single after this is published. What is  your answer?

• Yes,  I am single.

So, what do you look for in a girl?

• Just a woman with ambition and a pretty smile.
