Hampton Man Crush: Arthur Butler

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

I know you all have been asking, “when are they going to get some more chocolate for the HMC’s?”  Well ladies, the wait is finally over, we’ve found the perfect chocolate man  to be this week HMC.

Meet Arthur Butler, a junior psychology major from Oakland, California. Arthur transferred to Hampton this semester. He fell in love with the university after  reading  Booker T. Washington’s autobiography where he learned more about the university. Arthur is heavily involved in church and is a God-fearing man. He grew up in the church and say he couldn’t live life with out having a relationship with God. He hopes that his partner will  feel the same.

HC: What do you do back home?

AB: I was raised in the church. I’m a musician so I play the drums. I like to hike, run, and go to the beach too.

HC: What are your career goals?

AB: Eventually I want to teach but that’s after I start up a rec center to work with juveniles to get them back on their feet.

HC: What are some things people would never know about you?

AB: I broke my arm in high school and the bone went straight through my arm. When the doctors extended my arm the bone came through even more.

HC: What color describes your personality?

AB: Green, I feel like its down to earth but it can still be very powerful and strong. You’re going to notice its presence.

HC: Drake or Meek?

AB: Drake

HC: Describe your ideal relationship?

AB: We both meet in church and we court for the year, but today  this generation isn’t really like that. They don’t court at all.

HC: What’s the first thing you notice about a girl?

AB: I notice if  she is smiling or not and I have to look at your hands. I feel like if you take care of your hands and feet we will be good.

HC: What’s your guilty pleasure?

AB: Food like sweets and pies! I have a sweet tooth.

HC: Are you currently taken?

AB: Not right now, I’m not really looking either. I’m just focused on school.

HC: What’s your biggest turn off?

AB: When a woman has a lack of respect for herself and other people.

HC: What is some advice you have for the ladies?

AB: Present yourself in a way that you want to be approached.

HC: What’s wifey material in your opinion?

AB: An open-minded woman, she has to have some sort of relationship with God or in the church. I really agree with that scripture, “How can two walk together until they agree.”
