Getting Back on Track After Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

We all hate to believe that spring break has come to an end and if we could, we would all turn back the hands of time and go back to that week, but sadly, that just can’t happen. We miss the beaches, the fun time with friends and the partying, but now it’s time to get serious again. Although it was only a week, so much happened that thoughts of school work and extracurricular activities just flew out the window. Its recovery time, so here is a quick guide to getting back to your regular routine after a blissful spring break.

1.)   Getting Organized

Back to the reality of class, social obligations and dreadful meetings. Even though its March, this would be the perfect time to invest in a new planner. You can start fresh and write down your schedule for the rest of the semester, jot down your tests and exams, dates to remember, study schedule for finals and of course a countdown to the summer. I highly recommend you check out the “Passion Planner”. Their limited edition Paradise Blue Planner is perfect for the spring and summer and reminds you of what your goals are.

2.)   Spring Cleaning

No one will like to admit it, but we all know we could use some spring cleaning. Get rid of all winter clothes and replace them with spring and summer pieces. Switch out your bedding for something a little brighter, update your photos and just start anew. Cleanliness will definitely get you in the mood for the spring.

3.)   Detox

Spring break is more than just a break from school, it’s also a break from diets. To recover from a week of not so clean eating and alcohol, give your body a break by detoxifying. Go a week eating non packaged foods and some fruits and vegetables. Also, cut out alcohol and let your liver rest and limit the amount of junk food and dessert. Your body, skin, hair and nails will all thank you.

4.)   Exercise

You don’t do a lot of exercise when you’re laying on a beach and partying all hours of the night. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, do some walking or just get outside. A little walking goes a long way.

5.)   Sleep

Sleep is super important after a fun filled week of eating, travelling and lots of sun. Go to sleep an hour earlier than usual and try reading a book before bed instead of scrolling down your TL or watching Netflix. Try to get in at least 8 hours of sleep, because the more you sleep, the easier your life becomes.

Spring break is great, but again, it’s time to recover. Use these tips to recharge and start getting ready for next year.
