Five Positive Affirmations To End Your Semester Off Right

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

College is definitely a headache and can be stressful most of the time. We go through so many emotions and breakdowns when trying to fully cope with balancing our social and academic life, that we forget to live positively and happily. As the end of the semester slowly creeps up on us, here are few affirmations to get you to the finish line to enjoy your summer.

  1. I Am Worthy of My Own Time and Other People’s Time

Sometimes, when we’re stressed or going through other personal issues, it’s hard to realize who you are and what you need from yourself. When feeling this way, it’s also hard for many to open up to people because of feeling as if they aren’t important enough or worthy enough. As finals come closer, remember that it’s okay to ask other people for help if you need to.  Not only asking others for help, but asking what you can do for yourself so you can be prepared for that final or presentation and succeed at it.

     2. I Am Forever Growing In Anything That I Do

When being overwhelmed at times, it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come. Toward the end of the semester, I take time to evaluate myself and my past actions. Remember that in everything you do, you are forever growing. You are forever changing and improving on yourself and situations, whether it pertains to school or your personal life. Growth is one of the steps of rebirth. So take a look at where you were this time last year and the number of times you’ve shed your skin to become who you are at this moment.

     3. I Know I Will Be Successful

Always remind yourself that you have goals that you want to achieve.  Whether you want to be a lawyer, doctor, teacher, business owner, etc. making sure that you keep the mindset that you will be successful, you will be what you have dreamt of being since you were young is key. Sometimes we lose sight of our end goal when we feel at our lowest. You think that you can’t do it, BUT you can and you will.

    4. I Am Not Afraid To Take Chances

Toward the end of the semester, there are so many opportunities for you to be a part of different clubs/organization for the following semester that you may feel scared to try. Even internship opportunities might come to you for the summer but you’re scared. Everything starts with you. You decide where you want to be and what you want to do.  There’s no guarantee you will land on your feet but jump anyway.

    5. I Move At My Own Pace and I Am Content

At the end of the day, everyone moves at their own pace. You are not in competition with anyone but yourself. As the end of the school year comes to a close, realize that you have moved at your own pace the whole semester and you deserve happiness for finishing regardless. You also know that the ending of the semester means it’s time to TURN UP for the summer! To those reading this, yall deserve this break and time off to enjoy!
