This week’s theme is cuffing season. The season that some of us enjoy and the rest of us silently can’t stand it. Yet, there are always learning experiences that we can take away from past relationships, current ones, or future relationships. When it comes to pursuing romantic relationships, the idea of dating is one that has many different opinions. I’m here to let you know that dating until you find the right one has to be one of the best things to do while we’re young.
Know that when dating multiple people, there should always be an understanding between you and the person(s) involved that the situation is mutual. Understandably, feelings will get involved but at the end of it all, you’re dating to find out who truly cares for you and who you can eventually see a future with. Never choose the first person who does the bare minimum for you or the first person who gives you attention. Dating means allowing you to take your time. Allowing yourself to exude an energy that brings confidence and awareness when going into these kinds of relationships. Time is of course of the essence and gives you the chance to make the right decision with what you want, who you want it with, and how it’s going to happen.
When dating, there are no rules. It’s your opportunity to experience, learn from that, and grow. When we date, some of us are told to stick to just one person and give them your all and you’ll receive the same thing in return. Dating multiple people at once, if that’s what you choose to do, can bring plenty of opportunity to you. When dating multiple people, you learn more about yourself. You learn your wants and needs that are no brainers for future relationships. Each person that you date can also serve different purposes for you in your life. Like Nola Darling in She’s Gotta Have It, who dated three men who each represented characteristics she saw in herself as well as things she wanted to change about who she was. Dating helps weed out the men/women that you don’t particularly want. Of course, when dating always tries to be respectful of others’ feelings and emotions towards you. Dating multiple people is about honesty not only for them but for you.
There are plenty of reasons why people date multiple people. Maybe you’re not a one-person kind of guy or girl. Maybe you like the different feel that different people can bring you. All in all, it’s mostly about what makes you happy and content with the life you continue to live.
