Tired of staring at your blank white walls? Don’t seem to really feel at home in your “home away from home?” Do you need some home décor ideas? Well Hercampus at Hampton University has your solution. We bring to you, Campus Cribs! Each week, we are going to take you onto a journey into some of the most lavish and unique cribs, all occupied by HU’s very own students. We’re on a mission to find HU’s dopest cribs and nothing is off limits.
Tolani Rosa is a graduating senior psychology major from Brooklyn, New York and she invited us to take a look at her crib. Tolani lives in an apartment off-campus with her two roommates. The apartment has a full kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, a fireplace, and a walkout balcony right outside her bedroom door. Along with the visual tour that is linked below, Tolani humored us and answered a few questions about her crib!
Q: What inspired your apartment décor?
A: I’ve lived off-campus for three years. The dorm is not a nice place to look at, it’s not inviting. So, I just wanted something extra. I wanted to be able to have a piece of mind, somewhere, I come in, I come through the door and I can actually relax. Instead, of dreading being there or being at Hampton and not being at home. I just wanted a getaway.
Q: What would you say, is the theme of your apartment?
A: I don’t think I really had a theme, I just wanted it to be a luxurious type thing. I didn’t want my room to be like the average on campus, off campus type look. Yeah, so it’s a little extra!
Q: Can you give us the names of some of the stores you shopped to acquire your home décor?
A: I shopped TJMAXX, HomeGoods, and Wayfair online. I think those are the places where I really got everything from.
Q: How many bedrooms and bathrooms are in this apartment?
A: It’s a three bedrooms, two bathrooms.
Q: Do you actually use your kitchen or is it just there for looks?
A: I barely use my kitchen. BY CHOICE! I don’t know, I never feel like cooking or doing anything so I honestly barely cook.
Q: So, what’s your favorite meal to make when you do decide cook?
A: I like to make macaroni, barbeque chicken, and collard greens.
