This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

Kierra Green is a graduating senior, Strategic Communications major, Liberal Arts minor from Washington, D.C.

HC: What leadership role(s) do you take on at Hampton University?

Kierra: I am the President and one of the Campus Correspondents for Her Campus Hampton U alongside Victoria Daniels. I am also a Senior ambassador for College Girls.

HC: How have you grown over the past few years at Hampton University?

Kierra: It was just something about being at an HBCU that boosted my confidence to an all-time high. When I first got here I was content with myself, but I never thought I would be running organizations or speaking on panels, and be essentially a leader on campus.

HC: What is one thing you would change about your Hampton experience?

Kierra: I wish I wasn’t caught in this bubble at Hampton. And what I mean by that is when I first got here I already knew some people from back home and I didn’t allow myself to really branch out and befriend other people until my junior/senior year. Which I really regret, Hampton is full of great, genuine people and some of those I will have in my life forever.

HC: Do you feel like Hampton has prepared you for real life?

Kierra: In a way yes! It has taught me that when people tell you no you aren’t talking to the right people. Don’t seek permission just do what you want, and see how much more you get done. Hampton has also showed me that people will walk around promoting this reality that isn’t real, so always be true to yourself because that’s what people will remember about you.

HC: What’s something you always wanted to do as a child but never got to do it?

Kierra: Since I was young I always wanted to go to Disney World. I feel like I’m one of few people who hasn’t been there and even as an adult I still want to experience it with my little sisters. My mom has planned a family trip there in April so I’m pretty excited about that.

HC: If you could be on the cover of any magazine which one would you choose?

Kierra: Probably vogue or playboy, depending on how i’m feeling that day lol

HC: If you could trade lives with anyone for a day who would it be and why?

Kierra: Beyonce duhhhh so I can CashApp myself some money and pay off these student loans lol.

HC: What famous historical figure would you like to fight?

Kierra: I think everybody could agree on Christopher Columbus because he’s a liar and a scammer lol he set our people behind so many centuries so he definitely got to catch these hands first.

HC: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think title should be?

Kierra: Life of a Real City Girl lol

HC: If you were president for the day, what is one thing you would change about the country?

Kierra: I would have to say Affordable health care for everyone, it’s no reason you should be denied life saving health treatment because you don’t make a certain amount or cannot afford it. That’s crazy to me.

HC: How would you describe yourself in three words?

Kierra: hilarious, family-oriented, loyal

HC: What do you plan on doing after college?

Kierra: There’s so much I want to do when I graduate! First I want to be a publicist for my various clients, ranging from the film industry, the music industry or even a company or private business who needs their image managed. I plan on having multiple sources of income. I feel like in today’s society, that’s what you need to be successful.

HC: What advice would you give to the younger you?

Kierra: I would definitely say don’t be so hard on yourself, you got this!!!! Also stop being so damn lazy, you can’t get everything done from your bed princess and let go of people who don’t have your best interest at heart.
