Is it just me, or is it so hard to read guys when it comes to having a healthy relationship on a college campus? Or have you wished that you had tips from other guys to know how to maneuver properly? Well, today is your lucky day, because I have the inside scoop on what guys think and brutally honest advice from my guy friends that did not hold back on the tea. When it comes to reading guys, it can be hard because you truly never know their true intentions and how they feel. So, we as girls start to overthink, and overthinking leads to us sometimes doing the most. This then leads to running the guy off or never understanding how they felt and why the relationship did not work. So, there is no more guessing- I have 3 brutal relationship tips from college guys that did not hold back.

Long distance relationships DO NOT work

When it comes to long distance relationships, 9 times out of 10 one of the partners has or is planning on cheating. Long distance relationships only work for couples that have been together and trust one another 100%. If there is no trust, then you can bet on the relationship not working and failing after a couple months. Even if there is trust, temptations are REAL, especially on a college campus. There are parties being thrown left and right, you see new people everyday, and if no one knows your significant other, then no one is watching you to see if you are being loyal. So, when it comes to long distance relationships, if you are truly not committed then it will not last.

There is always someone that looks better

This goes back to temptations and not being tempted by every pretty girl you see. When it comes to dating, there will always be someone that looks better than your significant other, and for some people that is a hard pill to swallow. It is hard for some people to realize that when a pretty girl walks by, most likely every boy is going to look at her face and body. After analyzing her, they are then going to think in their minds about her. Opinions like, “her ass looks good ,” “she’s bad and has nice skin,” “I would smash,” etc. And you cannot get mad about that because that is how we as humans are, but you have to know what is too much and when it crosses the line. But every girl has to realize guys do this even if they are in a relationship.

There are some guys in college that encourage their homeboys to cheat

When a guy is with his guy friends and they are out, most likely they will surround themselves with girls. Surrounding themselves with girls allows each one of them to be put on with one of the girls. And if your boyfriend does not have good homeboys, 9 times out of 10 they are going to encourage him to cheat or put him on with someone to allow him to cheat. Not every guy group is like this, but do not think because you are cool with his friends then they are watching him for you. Like girlfriends, when it comes to homeboys, they are loyal just like us. So, just keep a watchful eye and remember that.

Hello! My name is Kiara Davis, I am a junior strategic communications (PR) major, marketing minor from the land of 10,000 lakes, Saint Paul, Minnesota. I really love writing and have since I was young. I also really enjoy the performing arts which include dancing, singing, and musical theatre. Ever since I was young I have been apart of dance and musical programs. As for my goals in life, I would like to see myself working for an advertising agency, and eventually achieving my biggest career goal of becoming a business owner. My passion includes contributing to the change of the stereotypical view of African-American women in society. Black women are amazing in every aspect and I would like to help the entire world recognize that.
