Say goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring. With Spring approaching, social media feeds are being filled with color and shimmer. Spring is the perfect time to experiment and explore makeup. The sun is shining and flowers are in bloom. Make-up has no rules; it is made for everyone — all that matters is how you feel when you wear it. If you are looking to get into makeup and don’t know where to start, we’re here to help. Spring is the perfect time to play with different color schemes and palettes. Now that warm weather season is upon us, everyone is stepping out- and so can you. Here are a few makeup trends to try.

  • Pastel Hues: Light colors brushed across the lid that catches the sunlight. It has a nice 70’s nostalgia to it, doesnt it? For all my MUA’s in training, try soft colors to brighten up any look. In the last year it has become very popular to do minimalistic eyeliner designs using pastel colors. Nothing too bold, but just enough to catch someone’s eye.
  • Heavy blush: You can’t go wrong with rosy cheeks. It gives sunkissed with out having to be kissed by the sun. You can use a liquid blush under your foundation or even a powder blush on top. Regardless, the more the merrier.
  • Dewy Skin: Nothing like that happy glow. Use a hydrating moistuerizer and apply a light to meduim coverage foundation on top, or mix liquid highlighter with your preferred foundation and watch the difference. It okay to fake it til you make it.
  • Pop of Color: Love color, it makes everything look bold with the smallest effort. Instead of adding a shimmer in the inner corner of the eye, try a vibrant color and just like that he makes the simpliest make up look look like it took hours. Or even try a colored eye liner. The brighter, the better.
  • Soft lip tint: A lil color never hurt nobody. instead of worrying about lipstick, try tints instead of eyeshadow. putting pink, red, or orange shadows in the center of you lips and applying a nice gloss has a nice natural look to it. Perfect for spring.
  • No Foundation: For all my natural glam girlies. Try a little concealer, blush, and highlight. It is the perfect no makeup makeup. Requires little effort and looks gorgeous.
  • Detailing: The small things can make a big impact. Try new things. A few faux freckles here, maybe a few gems there. a beauty mark maybe. The small things can pack a big punch, so try them out don’t be scared to be bold and creative.

Some of us have accepted our bare skin and have found confidence in it. It is okay to have some fun and explore the fun in eyeshadow and lipstick. Makeup is always fun, creative, and expressive. Makeup is the perfect example of, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” You are the one wearing it and doing it and you should like it. However, make-up is trial and error and won’t always be perfect. It is just a fun process and experience it allows you to spend time pampering and treating yourself. Make-up is supposed to make you feel comfortable, confident, and boost you up.

Makeup is something that’ll never go out of style. Time and time again, there will always be new trends in makeup and these are just a few to try. You may prefer a natural look or one that’s brilliant and bold, regardless this spring is the perfect time to allow your inner MUA to bloom and flourish. Welcome spring with open arms and a smile on your face. Try these makeup looks, wear them loud and proud. Be unapologetically you.
