7 Best Halloween Movies To Watch With Your Boo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

7. Scary Movie (2000)

Scary movie is by far one of the funniest parodies you will ever watch. You and your boo are guaranteed to laugh while watching this. This horror-comedy film remakes classic scenes from “The Sixth Sense, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Scream,” “The Blair Witch Project” and “The Matrix,” so grab your tissue now because you will have tears all night long.

6. Casper (1995)

Remember everyone’s friendly ghost? Casper is a sweet little ghost that haunts a mansion in Maine, all alone. Until a spirit specialist and his daughter arrive to communicate with Casper and his not so friendly uncles. Casper begins to catch feelings for the daughter Kat, however; it is impossible for anything to happen considering he is a ghost and his uncles are not down for it. This childhood classic is perfect to watch with your boo.

5. The Haunted Mansion (2003)

If you are looking for a Halloween movie that will practically force you to snuggle up, “The Haunted Mansion” is the one. This fantasy-comedy-horror film will have you two on the edge of your seat as three ghosts haunt a workaholic and his neglected family in a gigantic mansion.

4. Hocus Pocus (1993)

This horror-fantasy film focuses on the adventure of a teen boy, his sister, and their friend. As they try to stop a coven of witches from becoming immortal in Salem, Massachusetts. Hocus Pocus is a classic rerun on freeform and Disney channel around this time, so why not add it to your list?

3. Scream (1996)

With the one-year reunion of her mother’s death coming up, Sydney Prescott’s life couldn’t get any worse. Until, she and all her friends become the target of a killer that goes by the name Ghostface. You and your boo can follow Sydney and her friends as they are stalked and taunted with trivia questions before their sudden deaths in this American-slasher film.

2. The Addams Family (1991)

Let’s be honest, as a child, we all wanted to have that unbothered attitude Wednesday possessed. “The Addams Family” is a supernatural-comedy film that brings laughter and excitement to all viewers. Just the type of emotion you and your boo will need after watching “Scream”; sit back and follow the family as they try to figure out if Uncle Fester is indeed who he says he is.

1. Halloweentown Series (1998-2006)

With the “Halloweentown” series being one of the best Disney Channel Halloween movie series ever created. I could not only suggest “Halloweentown” to you and your boo, it is a necessity that you two watch all of them. You will get the chance to follow Marnie and her family members through all their endeavors dealing with their grandma’s Aggie hometown. Therefore, do not just stop at “Halloweentown”, you two can also watch “Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge,” Halloweentown High” and “Return to Halloweentown.”
