Nature is something very magical. It can help you relax after a stressful week of working and studying. Many people like walking around campus,  if the weather is not cold, to enjoy the colorful trees and flowers. However, we are living in Minnesota – the state where the cold can be very intense. . How are we supposed to enjoy the natural beauty without the warm weather? The solution here is buying a plant and putting it in your living space.

Let me tell you why. I love plants and flowers and I highly recommend you buy them because of these reasons.

First, as I know, plants are good to reduce stress as well as anxiety. As a college student, you may suffer many types of pressure from the assignments, grades and financial burden. Therefore, it is good to have indoor or potted plants in your room, especially if the room doesn’t have more than two windows. In addition, plants can make you feel more optimistic and happier about your college life, although it is full of stress. Instead of making your brain work much better, improving the life attitude is a big plus for having a plant in your room.

As I explore, plants also help in preventing colds, stopping headaches and even reducing blood pressure, especially in the situation that the world is crazy because of the coronavirus. Because plants have the ability to help with clearing congestion, it may help you to protect yourself from this virus, but you need to make sure that you wash your hands as well. Some plants will help prevent allergies too. Another fact is that if your family members are smokers, a plant may help you remove the airborne chemicals from cigarettes. You will not believe me but my father, whenever he needs to smoke, goes to the garden which is full of trees to eliminate the toxic from the cigarettes. However, don’t abuse it–– smoking is not good for your health.

The most common thing we know about plants is that they help to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. However, people tend to overlook this free help but invest a ton of money on buying the machines that   help to purify the air at home. Believe me, you can save a lot of money from having a plant in your house instead of filtering air machines. Plants also have the ability to increase humidity, which helps to stop nose bleeds and sore throats in the dry but cold weather of Minnesota.

In addition, because plants can convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, it has a positive impact on our health by preventing diseases. Runny nose, sore throat, common cold, etc.… all these things can be reduced  just by some plants. Now you know you have natural medicine without wasting money on CVS. Not only this, plants also help us breathe better and stay alive by providing us with pure oxygen to inhale, which can prevent lung cancer or any diseases related to the respiratory system. We kind of owe our survival to plants. Special plants that produce oxygen even at night are good to have in the bedroom, as they aid in a more peaceful slumber.

Plants help us a lot by improving our health. But their benefits are more than being a natural and cheap medicine. Plants are the perfect decoration for your room or private spaces. The beauty of plants not only makes your home or work area look fresher but makes the mind happy too, ultimately aiding in psychological benefit by uplifting the mood. They are an affordable therapy that may benefit you in numerous ways.

Finally, I will recommend some plants that you can take a look at. They are Rex Begonia, Moth Orchid, Philodendron or Spider Plant. Buy a plant and see how your life changes, I bet you will be surprised.
