Now that classes have started and you’ve finally got your schedule down, homework is likely piling up and late-night library sessions are no longer a thing of the past. If you’re one of the many Hamilton students who would rather drink poision than Commons coffee, don’t fret. Opus is open until 11:30 pm most nights, and many caffenaited items await! Wondering what Opus drink you can get to stop you from nodding off in the middle of writing a paper? Need a late night snack that doesn’t come from a vending machine? Check out our Opus recommendations and head to the café nearest to you!
Dirty chai:
It’s hard to go wrong with a dirty chai, a drink that combines the tasty chai flavors with a shot of espresso to keep you alert. If you need an extra boost, just make it a large and add an extra shot of espresso. In case of crazy hot weather, this drink also tastes great iced!
Pumpkin flavored drinks:
Pumpkin spiced lattes (#PSL) are not just for Starbucks. Support the Hamilton economy by giving into your pumpkin obsession at Opus with a shot of Pumpkin Spice or Pumpkin Pie flavoring. These flavor shots basically taste good in any drink and curb a pumpkin craving!
Chocolate covered espresso beans:
If you need a snack and some caffeine, pick up a bag of these beans before a long night of studying. Although they come with 15ish beans per bag, we recommend sticking to 4 at a time- don’t forget that you’re getting a big dose of caffeine with the chocolate taste! Staying up late might be necessary to finish your paper, but you don’t want to start shaking halfway through the night.
Red pepper hummus and pita chips:
This snack is a great alternative to the usual Opus cookie or trail mix late night snack. They give you a ton of pita chips and enough hummus to do the job! The roasted red pepper flavor adds a spicy kick, but stick to regular hummus if you’re not feeling the extra flavor.
