This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hamilton chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Liza Strauss has a passion for dance and travel and one day hopes to become a diplomat.  After hanging out with HEAT, flea market hunting, and planning how to change the world all day, Liza just wants to meet a down to earth guy who she can have great long talks with (hint to boys: she’s single!).

Name: Liza Strauss
Hometown: Larchmont, New York
Year: Sophomore
Major: Chinese & (possibly) World Politics/Interdisciplinary
Relationship status: Single

What are you involved in on campus?

I am on HEAT (Hamilton’s “renowned” Hip-Hop dance crew), a co-host for the WHCL radio show Puzzles (Thursdays @ 7pm…Listen in!), and the co-president of Active Minds (Hamilton’s mental health awareness organization). I am also a retired ultimate frisbee player.

What do you look for in a guy?

I like a guy who is down to earth and can talk about everything from the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars (which I don’t watch or understand) to politics (without getting too heated). Someone who can make me laugh and send me good music is always a plus. Kindness is key!

Where is your favorite place to eat off campus?

Nola’s. It’s a Clinton classic. I recommend the Mahi Mahi Taco.

Describe your perfect weekend night at Hamilton:

I would begin my night by performing at a party with HEAT and by the end of the night I would be dancing on the tables at Dinner B with the one and only Dyllon Young (former Campus Cutie).

What are some of your favorite songs right now?

Starry Eyed (Ellie Goulding), True to Myself (Ziggy Marley), and Everyday (Dave Matthews Band) .

Cats or dogs?

(Small) dogs.

How would you describe your style?

Eclectic. I love finding interesting clothes in boutiques in foreign countries and would never turn down browsing a flea market. I try to avoid the big brand names when I can.

Where is your favorite place to study on campus and why?

Science center atrium when I’m feeling social and the first floor library back cubicles when I’m not. Studying with friends in the science center while sipping on an Opus chai makes studying a little less daunting. But, writing a paper is better accomplished when I’m focused in the library.

If you designed an interdisciplinary major what would it be and why?

Funny you should ask! I may actually be designing an interdisciplinary major. I’m thinking of some combination of government, philosophy, and public policy. It might be called “how Liza is going to become a Diplomat.”
