Cute Ways to Stay Warm in the Winter!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hamilton chapter.

As the best season for fashion, fall, begins to come to an end it’s time to start thinking about how to stay trendy while keeping warm during the winter months! Here are some ideas of how can you can stay trendy AND warm during the winter.

Hats: It is essential to have a variety of hats in the winter so that you can stay warm while still looking cute and stylish. Winter hats are actually a great way to funk up an outfit. This winter, animal hats are really popular, such as this owl hat from ASOS. In my opinion, these hats are adorable and they definitely make your outfit unique. Another way to go with a hat is the more classic beanie look. My last recommendation for hats is a different take on the winter hat: the winter headband. The winter headband is great for keeping your ears warm and can also add uniqueness to your look. This is a graphic headband from ASOS but there are plenty of other types of headbands that can be simpler or have a cool pattern to spice up your outfit.

Scarves: Scarves are absolutely necessary in the winter. They are so warm and snuggly, and also make an outfit ten times cuter. My first recommendation is this chunky circle scarf from Topshop. I’m a huge fan of chunky circle scarves; they are simple and this plain colored one matches with everything but they also add a little something extra to your everyday outfit (and they keep you warm)! My second option is this camo-print scarf from Piperlime. What I love about this is that it has a fun print and would look great with a basic black or cream-colored sweater (camo is also really trendy this year)

Fur: I personally am I HUGE fan of fur vests and jackets. Fur is a bold statement piece, so not everyone is into it, but I think it’s so cute and stylish and can really make an outfit (plus, its soft). My first fur recommendation is this fur vest from BB Dakota. I love the color toning of this one, how it goes back and forth between a lighter and darker color to make it a little different. It’s also the perfect shape and length for a fur vest- it’s straight but not boxy, and it’s long but not too long. My next option is this grey fur jacket from Shopbop. The style of the jacket definitely makes it unique, as does the color (fur jackets are brown much more often than grey). Throw this trendy fur jacket over a plain long sleeve T and it will definitely keep you warm in the winter.
