White House Garden Tour!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

As an intern in DC, you are given many opportunities that you cannot get anywhere else. This semester I am currently working for a New Jersey Congressman and I have been able to go various events and take many different tours. So, throughout this semester I am going to share with you the different opportunities I get to take part in and of course, all the pictures I take too! Two weekends ago, I was given tickets to go on the White House Garden Tour. It was such a cool experience because you literally get to be on White House property, practically standing at its back door. In the garden there are many beautiful trees and flowers that were planted by different Presidents throughout the years. It was really interesting because at each plant or tree there was a brief description and picture from the day it was planted which helped me understand the significance of each one. So, here are a few of the many pictures that were taken that day.
