Parents Weekend at GW is upon us, a time of monument tours, booked brunches at Founding Farmers, and (if you were lucky enough to snag tickets), a performance by the deity known to GW students as Jon Stewart.

If you’re a freshman, it’s probably the first time you’ll see your parents since they dropped you off. The reunion may look like this…

For seniors, hugging your parents is like seeing old friends:

Parents of freshmen: ‘Let’s do all the scheduled activities!’

Parents of seniors: when you try to tell them about the scheduled activities…

Parents of freshmen may forget your newly-developed independence…

Parents of seniors (hopefully) realize there’s more of a balance…

…Hopefully.

So even though we may sometimes think like this…

…we really do love them:

Happy Parents’ Weekend!
