Khristiana and Ann Marie’s Cooking Blog: Everything Apple

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

So it’s fall, the weather is getting crisp and cool and the leaves are changing colors. You’re trying to spend every second you can outside before the temperature hits freezing, and then hurricane Sandy, or just some bad weather, arrives. If you’re like us you’re not stepping a foot outside of your dorm. So what do you do to pass the time? Make some fall festive food! During Hurricane Sandy my roomie, AnneMarie, and I made some awesome warm apple cider and caramel apples! Here’s how to do it:

Warm Apple Cider

  1. Buy a container of apple cider
  2. Heat in croc pot (or a pot on the stove)
  3. Add a few pinches of cinnamon
  4. Cut up small apple slices and throw them in!
  5. Once warm, it’s ready to drink!

Caramel Apples

  1. Buy apples and caramel sauce!
  2. Stick popsicle sticks (or forks) in the apples
  3. Pour caramel sauce into a bowl
  4. Roll apples in caramel sauce
  5. Put apples on a tin foiled tray and place in the refrigerator until the caramel sauce hardens (30-45 minutes)
  6. Take out and eat!!
