GW Rushes to the White House to Celebrate the Death of Bin Laden

On May 1st at approximately 10:30 PM, when the news broke that President Obama was going to give a speech regarding the death of Osama bin Laden, mayhem spread around GWU’s campus instantly.  Chanting was heard from every which way. Students dropped everything they were doing—even studying for their finals. It didn’t matter that people had finals the next day…they made a mad dash for the White House. Going to school in DC gave the students of GWU a chance to experience history in the making. By 11:00pm the area in front of the White House was mobbed with GWU students carrying flags, wearing red white & blue, and cheering. It was an unreal experience. Nicole Robert is a senior from North Salem, New York. She transferred from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and this is her third year at The George Washington University. She studies International Affairs with a concentration in Global Public Health, and minors in Public Health. A sister of Delta Gamma, Nicole loves to participate in many community service opportunities. She also interns at Washington Life Magazine and works as a hostess at a local restaurant.
