Four Diverse YouTubers you need to watch RIGHT NOW

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

YouTube. Our best accomplice in the game of procrastination. Whether it’s watching the top Vine compilation of this month or looking at Drake’s dance moves in “Hotline Bling”, here are a few YouTubers you need to watch right now.

1) Nigahiga

If you’re looking for comedic videos with clever punchlines and high-quality editing, Nigahiga is the channel for you. The channel, created by Japanese-Americans Ryan Higa, Sean Fujiyoshi, Tim Enos and Tarynn Nago, rose to fame with its “How to Be…(Emo, Gangster etc…)” series. After Higa moved to Las Vegas to attend college, Nigahiga became more of a solo effort. However, since 2012, Nigahiga has become a collective effort run by the Ryan Higa Production Company, brining even better quality and more creative videos.  The Ryan Higa Production Company, with hilarious and memorable personalities, will no doubt make you fall in love and irresistible to clicking on that subscribe button. Nigahiga, with over 15 million subscribers, is seriously the channel guaranteed to make you laugh.

2) IISuperWomanII

Another worthy comedic channel to checkout on YouTube is Lilly Singh, also known as IISuperWomanII. Superwoman is best known for her rant videos, as well as videos with her impersonating as her Indian parents. Lilly’s charismatic personality and original humor has seen her channel accumulate more than 7 million subscribers with her videos viewed more than a billion times. Aside from just a comedian, IISuperWomanII is also a rapper and motivational speaker. An overall high quality and fantastic channel, IISuperWomanII is one you need to subscribe to right now.

3) Wong Fu Productions

In my opinion, the best channel on YouTube is Wong Fu Productions. Not only is the channel a pioneer for Asian-American culture, but it is one of the YouTube channels with the highest quality in terms of content and editing. Wong Fu Productions, composed of Philip Wang, Ted Fu, and Wesley Chan, is best known for their (deep and meaningful) dramatic series that are often about relationships and life. The trio’s works has featured in a handful of national and international film festivals. They recently released their first ever feature film, Everything Before Us. Aside from short dramatic series, Wong Fu Productions has also created a number of comedy sketches. It is a genuinely great channel for anyone looking for some seriously beautifully created YouTube videos.

Warning: Do not watch Wong Fu’s dramatic pieces at night (it is guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes.)

4) KaushalBeauty

This channel is more for girls, but guys can check it out as well. If you’re looking for fast, easy to understand beauty channels, Kaushal Beauty is the one for you. I stumbled across her channel looking for easy to do makeup routines. The best part about Kaushal Beauty is that her videos are quite short, so instead of unnecessary content I see in other Beauty Guru channels, she gets straight to the point. Kaushal Beauty’s friendly personality will have you coming back every time you need advice on makeup.
