7 Ways Winter Always Seems to Win

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

It’s a game of chance and it lasts for about four months. Winter always seems to having something in store for us.

1. When we underestimate the cold by how the weather looks outside our windows.

Mmm…she’s bundled up…maybe I should put more layers on or maybe not.

2. Wind = drop about 10 degrees from the actual temperature.

Is there any wind…lets see…that girl’s hair is blowing, so it must be somewhat windy today.

3. Guestimate on what 40% chance of rain actually means.

It was not raining a few seconds ago…and I’m not even wearing rainboots. *Warning: Lake ahead

4. Additional layers means additional time needed in class to take some layers off.

I’ll only be outside for a few minutes. Is another layer worth it?

5. Did I just ruin my winter boots?

I haven’t even made it through the entire winter yet. Now I have to find and buy new ones. Great…

6. An evening out = freezing.

Urgh I dunno. Don’t want to spend money on coat check or lugging my coat around all night. I should be fine right?!

7. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat.
