Regardless of your political beliefs, it has become a crucial turning-point in America’s history. As President Trump starts his first few weeks in office, he has already started working on drastic changes to this nation’s overall welfare. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or any other political party, now is your time to step up for what you believe and what you believe America stands for. So, here are just a few things you can do to stand up for yourself and your fellow Americans.

 

Call your Senators

All Senators have phone lines which you can call and talk to representatives from the offices. By doing so, you can address important issues and bills you wish your Senator to pass or vote against. This is not only your civic duty, but also a great way to show your Senators the people they represent actually care.

 

Participate, Participate, Participate!

Attend marches, rallies, protests, etc. The Women’s March on Washington was not only extremely historic, but will without a doubt have an extremely positive impact. Additionally, there are climate marches and other rallies have the opportunity to make massive change and impact.

Do More than Facebook

While Tweeting or posting about your opinions on current affairs can be soothing, it often doesn’t do much. By participating in marches, volunteering at organizations, and donating anything you can, you can help your country in ways 100 times more than a simple Facebook post.

 

VOTE

The Presidential election may be over now, but that doesn’t mean that your obligation to vote is. Any election that comes up in the next few years, whether it be a local election or a primary, it is your civic duty to get out there and cast your vote! Your voice does matter!
