Everything below is available to watch on Netflix now. So get in your sweats, pop some popcorn, park yourself on the couch, and get watching! (Just remember to take a break every three hours or so…)

TV Shows

The Last Kingdom: If you’ve ever seen Vikings on the History Channel, you need to watch this show! It involves kidnapping, vikings, and awesome battle scenes; what more could you want? 1 season.

The Borgias: This series follows the Borgia family as they rise to power in the Roman Catholic Church. If you love historical drama this show is for you! 3 seasons.

Top of the Lake: If you like crime thrillers this show is a must see! It follows the story of 12 year old Tui, who becomes pregnant and attempts to kill herself in an ice-cold New Zealand lake. Detective Robin Griffin is determine to find out who did this to Tui and what she uncovers is nothing short of sinister. 1 season.

Freaks and Geeks: High school in the 1980s: awkward and awesome. This show star young Seth Rogen, Jason Segel AND James Franco. Does it get any better than that? I am still trying to figure out why only one season of this fabulous show exists . . . 1 season.

Skins: Sex, drugs, partying, and awkward high school drama. This British drama has everything required of a binge-worthy show. It’s like a trainwreck, you Just. Can’t. Look. Away. 7 seasons.

Bomb Girls: Badass WWII ladies building bombs. Yeah, that’s right. 3 seasons.

Movies

Tracks: This film follows the story of Robyn Davidson as she walks 1,600 miles over the Australian desert with only four camels and a dog for company.

Frida: This powerful film follows the life and artistic journey of painter Frida Kahlo through a life changing accident, marriage to fellow artist Diego Rivera, and rise as a famous artist.

Difret: A young female lawyer takes on the case of a 14 year Ethiopian girl charged with murdering her kidnapper and rapist who intended to make her his child bride. This film is based off true events and is triumphant yet heartbreaking. A must see.

Colonia: This film, starring Emma Watson, revolves around the infamous Colonia Dignidad, a sect nobody has ever escaped from. Watson’s character voluntarily joins the sect in a desperate search for her missing boyfriend.

Almost Famous: Kate Hudson and a rock band tour. Shouldn’t work, but it does!

Documentaries

The Hunting Ground: This expose digs into the nationwide epidemic of sexual-assault on college campuses and the administrations’s efforts to cover up these atrocities. Every college student should watch this film.

Gasland: This documentary by Josh Fox uncovers the sinister side-effects of hydraulic fracturing in the U.S. If you want to see water lit on fire, watch this film.

The Seventies: Ahhh, the seventies. Seems like everybody is nostalgic for this decade as of late, but it wasn’t all Led Zeppelin and flare jeans. Vietnam, Nixon, terrorism; this documentary digs into the darker side of this famous decade.

Mystery Monkeys of Shangri-La: If you ever watched Nature on PBS growing up, you will love this documentary that follows the lives of elusive snub-nose monkeys living in the highest forests in the world. Two words: baby monkeys. Doesn’t get much cuter than that.

The True Cost: Ever wonder who made your jeans or favorite t-shirt? This film explores that question and digs into how the lives of these workers are put at risk to keep clothing costs dirt cheap.

Cowspiracy: Learn where the meat from your McDonald’s burger came from in this gritty documentary about factory farming and it’s devastating impact on our planet.
