Anyone who knows me knows I have a huge sweet tooth. After discovering Killer Cupcakes in my first year, the bakery has been my go-to spot whenever I need a sugar fix. They have lots of different flavours that change every time you visit. Last year for my roommate’s birthday we ordered a small cake filled with custard, berries and vanilla buttercream which was devoured by three of us in a matter of minutes. If you’ve ever had a conversation with me about sweets, you have 100% heard my recommendation for this bakery because it has hands down the best cupcakes I’ve had in my life.

Location: 32A Wilston St, Guelph ON N1H 4G5

Who they are: Killer Cupcakes is a bakery located in downtown Guelph specializing in delicious cupcakes and cakes among other desserts. They have amazing and unique flavours with fun names like “Cookie Jarggernaut” and “Raspberry’s Baby”. Their frosting is 100% buttercream and is truly amazing. Their unique flavours  and fun atmosphere are a great way to treat yourself this weekend.

What they offer: Though the name of the bakery implies their specialty in cupcakes, they also offer a wide range of desserts such as cakes, whipped cheesecakes and cookies jammed with goodies like sprinkles and Oreos. Not only do they have a great selection of baked goods, they also have a menu of fun coffee beverages.

My recommendations:

  • WHIPPED CHEESECAKES. If you love cheesecake these are an absolute must. Essentially a whipped cheesecakes includes a whipped cheesecake filling that is much lighter than a traditional cheesecake and includes layers of decadent toppings such as brownies and Nutella or cherries and Oreos.
  • Any of their cupcakes (my favourite is the berries & cream which is a vanilla cake filled with custard and frosted with vanilla buttercream and topped with fresh berries)
