Bath bombs are all the craze right now, but purchasing bath bombs can become a little pricey! Here is a easy DIY Galaxy bath bomb recipe without having to break the bank.

What you need:

  • 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup of corn starch
  • 1/4 citric acid (or cream of tartar)
  • 1 tbs. of Oil (I used almond oil)
  • 1 tbs. of Water
  • A few drops of essential oils (I used peppermint and sweet orange)
  • A few drops of food colouring
  • Food sprinkles (optional)
  • A mold for the bathbombs

1. Measure out all the dry ingredients and mix them all in a bowl

2. Mix the oils together in another bowl and slowly add it to the dry mixture

It’s important that you add the wet ingredients very slowly to reduce fizzing! The mixture is done when you are able to clump it together in your hands.

3. Separate into 4 bowls and add a few drops of food colouring into each

When the food colouring is mixed in well, you can add sprinkles to give a shimmering look. Using glitter or mica in bath bombs is not advised because they can clog drains and can be quite messy!

4. Layer the coloured mixtures into your mold

I used a large silicone mold, making a pod shape, but there are many molds to choose from! Make sure to press the mixture hard into the mold.

5. Wait over night for the mixture to dry

And voilà! Put them in your next bath and destress!
