The end of the school year is almost upon us, and summer is now just around the corner! As the days have been getting warmer and the days are getting longer, it finally feels like we’ve trudged out of winter and are working our way through spring to finally be greeted by summer with open arms. Here are some of the albums I currently have on repeat while getting ready to soak up the sun!

1. Fine Line – Harry Styles

It’s no surprise that Watermelon Sugar is simply one of the most summer-y summer songs in existence, but this whole album gets me hyped for the warm weather! With other bangers like Golden, Adore You and Sunflower, Vol. 6, this album has a lot of songs that will make a day in the sun that much better! This album is just simply fun, and what more could you want from your summer tunes?

2. Teenage Dream – Katy Perry

Everyone loves a good throwback (okay, maybe 2010 doesn’t feel like it was that long ago, but it’s still been a decade)! I’m being completely honest when I say that there will never be another summer album like this one. Katy Perry pumped out hit after hit with this album, including songs like Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), California Girls, The One That Got Away, and Firework. That’s right – those were all on one single album! If summer were an album, it would be this one.

3. Future Nostalgia – Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa is another artist that pumps out summer tracks like nobody’s business! Although New Rules will always be my queen of Dua’s summer-y songs, I was more inclined to put Future Nostalgia as a whole album. Because of upbeat songs like Don’t Start Now, Physical, and Levitating, this is an album that you definitely wanna blast with the windows down!

4. CALM – 5 Seconds of Summer

One of the things that I love about 5 Seconds of Summer’s music is the fact that it’s grown up with me. When I was a teenager, their music was much more pop-y, and now that I’m a bit older, their sound has matured into something in tune with my current taste. It’s this evolution of their music that has kept them one of my favourite artists for many years. Although CALM isn’t as pop as some of the other albums I’ve listed, it still has songs with mellow, summer-y vibes like Wildflower, while also containing more upbeat songs like Red Desert that would be perfect for blasting in the car. Definitely on the top of my recommended if you haven’t heard it!

5. Pray for the Wicked – Panic! At the Disco

Panic! At the Disco skyrocketed in popularity with the release of this album due to the success of High Hopes, but this band has been one of my favourites for as long as I can remember. I could have just as easily put Death of a Bachelor here instead (due to bangers such as Victorious, Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time, and LA Devotee), I thought I’d go with PFTW due to the album’s popularity. Hey Look Ma, I Made It, Roaring 20s, and Dancing’s Not a Crime are some of my personal summer-y favourites from this album (other than High Hopes, obviously!). If you haven’t heard this album, I’d definitely check it out!
