1. A rice cooker

Using a rice cooker gives you one less thing to worry about when it comes to feeding yourself. Rice is a fairly affordable ingredient that you can easily have with other meals and side dishes, and it will help you fill up without breaking the bank.

2. Some really good nonstick cookware

In the long run, it will be more cost effective to invest in some really great pots and pans that will last you for years and years, even when you’re done school. They’re also way easier to cook with and clean!

3. A plant light

If you live in a basement unit like I do, you’ll know that growing plants can be tricky with the lack of natural lighting. Using a plant light allows you to supplement your plants with the light they would otherwise be missing out on. Depending on the light that you use, you can cover multiple potted plants.

4. A document organizer

I highly recommend getting a folder or filing box that you can store all of your important notes and documents in. It will make tasks like doing your taxes, splitting costs, and keeping track of warranties way easier, and less stressful.

5. An Amazon fire stick

If you have a TV, you should consider getting an amazon fire stick or something of the like. It allows you to access the Internet, YouTube, Netflix, and various apps and games on your TV. You can also stream YouTube videos from your phone to the TV, making it easier to share videos with your friends and roommates.
