Who Needs Cuffing Szn When You Have Best Friends?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GSU chapter.

It’s that time of year where it seems like everyone is trying to be “boo’d up.” As a single woman during this time, I understand how relationship FOMO could be getting to my single counterparts who don’t necessarily have anyone to snuggle up next to and stay warm with during the dropping temperatures. I’m here to tell you that you don’t need a significant other or “boo” during this season. All you need to survive this season are your besties.

Although there are some exceptions, going shopping with a significant often isn’t as exciting as going shopping with your friends. To kick off the season you and your besties can live it up by going on a shopping spree! It’s always fun to spend a check (or window shop) with your homegirls. A great way to make this trip as fun as possible would be to have you and your friends pick out outfits for each other to try on. This can give you and your gal pals a chance to venture out of your comfort zone and possibly even making that style a new part of your wardrobe.

Bestie season wouldn’t be bestie season without a girly spa day. You and a few pals just need to grab some face masks, hair masks, foot masks and nail polish for the ultimate bonding experience! Top it off with a playlist that incorporates the perfect mix of sappy songs to cry to and some Megan Thee Stallion, just because it’s completely necessary. Why else?

If you’re still trying to convince yourself that bestie season is, in fact, better than cuffing season, I have one word for you: sleepover. That’s right! Plan the ultimate sleepover with your besties. This is a night that can include things such as binge-watching movies (since Halloween is just around the corner), playing card and board games, baking sweet treats like brownies and cookies, and bonding. Sometimes the simplest things are all you need to make a night with the girls fun.

Although all of these activities are simple, sometimes that’s all you need to remind yourself that being single isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Just think about it; if you were cuffed, how could you possibly be able to enjoy bestie season the same? Round up your girls and make bestie season the new trend!
