Four Ways Cyber Monday Trumps Black Friday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GSU chapter.

Remember the days when your mom would make you participate in Black Friday? The clothing stores would be so packed that you literally saw  people trying on clothes outside of the fitting room. Or what about when fellow black friday shoppers would be fighting over the last lap-top in the store? Your mom would tell you to “stay close” because she did not want you to get trampled over by the stampede of people. Now that you are a college student capable of making your own decisions, you have chosen a smarter and safer route to holiday shopping sales; Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is basically Black Friday online, but without the drama. Traditionally Cyber Monday took place the Monday after Thanksgiving, but now  online stores are lowering prices before Thanksgiving.  There are great sales and discounts on everything from clothing to electronics on your favorite shopping sites. CyberMonday trumps Black Friday, and here’s why.

Comfort and Convenience

Cyber Monday allows us to be lazy while we shop for the best bargains. Feel free to roll out of bed in your oversized t-shirt and shop online! No need to put on clothes, try to beat traffic and fight your way to deals.  If you’re feeling claustrophobic and you don’t feel like doing your hair, go with CyberMonday.

Cyber Monday Has Better Deals on Apprarel, Shoes and Beauty Products

As girls, we definitely love a good deal on clothes, shoes and Make-Up. It’s practically in our deoxyribonucleic acid (yes it’s that serious) . According to CNN, if you’re looking to score on clothes, shoes and beauty, Cyber Monday reigns supreme. Also our favorite retail online stores such as ASOS, Urban OG, GoJane and Forever21 have already started chopping down their prices!

Save Mula

CyberMonday allows you to save on gas expenses which is really beneficial to your bank account  or piggy bank. Also, you save money on food because most people tend to buy food while they’re out shopping. Since you will be in the comfort of your home, you can just munch on thanksgiving leftovers and save mula.

As college students, we like a good bargain so we know to compare prices in order to figure out which store has the lowest price on a specific item. Cyber Monday allows you to compare prices online between stores, which is faster and less of a hassle.  Imagine walking in Wal-mart on Black Friday and seeing a lenovo laptop you have been wanting, and it’s $100 cheaper! There are at least five people in front of you craving the same computer. You want to pull out your smart phone to see if the  laptop is cheaper somewhere else, but if you spend time doing that all of the laptops will be gone. What do you do?Let’s let a Black Friday shopper figure it out.

Let’s be lazy and smart while participating in CyberMonday. You don’t have to worry about pettiness or fainting from a sudden case of  claustrophobia while online shopping in your room.
