School is finally here! While many are dreading to hear these words, a new school year can be refreshing. For freshmen like myself, there is a lot to look forward to.
There are so many friendships to make
Let’s be real, being in a new environment where you may not know many people is intimidating, but you can totally use this to your advantage! Because every other freshman is new, no one is alone. Everyone wants a friend. This is the best time to go out, join clubs, and make connections. New people and new experiences are good for the soul. Get out there and have some fun!

Finally, some independence
With college comes some freedom! You no longer have your parents checking up on your every move. This is an exciting part of growing up, but just remember, with new freedom comes responsibility. There is a lot of fun to look forward to, just be smart and always be safe.

Break the Status Quo
You can be whatever you want to be. Cliché, but seriously. If you’ve always slacked in school, now is the time to be that straight A student. Or try out for a sports team. This is your opportunity to let those secret passions roam free.

A new place to explore
You don’t have to dedicate every moment to studying. Here at Georgia State, the city is your oyster. There is so much to do. Take a weekend to visit the park, or try a new restaurant after class, just explore. Get adventurous and have some fun.
