As the busy school week is finally dwindling down we can’t help but look forward to the weekend. This weekend’s events include ABC Gardner as well as performances by TT The Artist and Might Mark. Another event to look forward to is Freaknik, an event hosted by our very own VP Dixon Romeo that will take place this Saturday at the BCC. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this popular event, Freaknik started as a spring break meet up of students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Atlanta, Georgia. It began as a small picnic but burst in size in the 90s to include dancing, a basketball tournament, a film festival and more.

Now, if there is one thing you should know about this event, it’s that the music will be on ON POINT. With a mixture of 90’s hip-hop, 2000’s jams and a little Latin goodness for your soul! We know what you’re thinking: Why can’t Freaknik be every day? Well, unfortunately we can’t make that happen. However, we did create a playlist to get you ready for this Saturday. Jam packed with nothing but the best, you’ll want to keep this playlist created by our very own Denisha far beyond this weekend’s festivities. The initial goal was to keep it at 10 tracks, but, as you will find out Saturday, once you get into the music it becomes quite hard to stop so there are 20 bonus tracks approved by the DJ herself, Ife. So what are you waiting for? Go listen, and remember, there’s more where that came from if you go to Freaknik this Saturday.
