Pop star Miley Cyrus is making headlines everywhere for her outrageous behavior. Recently while watching SpongeBob SquarePants, I came to the conclusion that Miley has been getting her style inspiration from the Nickelodeon cartoon. Without further a do, here’s proof that Miley is just a SpongeBob copycat.
The Hair Plankton cut his long, luscious locks to show off his two antennae. Since Miley is a human and doesn’t have antennae to show off, she did the next best thing. After cutting off her hair in August 2012, Miley now usually wears her hair in two tiny buns on the top of her head.
The Partying Lifestyle
After watching Gary throw a really fun party, Miley was inspired to get rid of her “good girl” image and hit the party scene.
Tongue out
SpongeBob loves to stick his tongue out; it is one of the easiest ways for him to express himself. Miley took this concept to a whole new level by making it one of her signature moves. This star constantly has her tongue out of her mouth, whether it is in photos or music videos.
Swinging
In one SpongeBob episode, Patrick and SpongeBob play “hookie” and swing around on hooks under the sea all day. Here is a shot of what Patrick Star looked like swinging around (strangely similar to shots from Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” music video).
Undies
SpongeBob has always rocked the tighty-whiteys underwear look. In Miley’s music video for “Wrecking Ball” she copies this style by pairing the tighty-whiteys with a white crop top. Come on, Miley: try to be a little more unique.
Twerking
Squirdward made twerking famous before anyone even knew what twerking was, as his go-to dance move is putting his hands on his knees and “twerking”. Miley took this dance move and made it her own when she made a YouTube video of her twerking in a unicorn onesie.
Between the legs dancing
At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Miley rubbed a foam finger between her legs and caught everyon’s attention. However, in past episodes of SpongeBob, Mr.Krabs has pulled the same move, and no one thought twice.
Space Suit
At the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, Miley opened with a space version of her song “We Can’t Stop.” Her outfit looked strangely similar to that ofSandy Cheeks (a squirrel who lives underwater). Coincidence? I think not.
Animal Onesies
As seen in her twerking video, Miley loves to rock a onesie. This would be unique if SpongeBob hadn’t just worn an animal onesie on his show.
