Preparing for Next Semester Over the Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gonzaga chapter.

When you first get off:

RELAX. Don’t spend all of break worrying about your next semester or what you got on your finals. You can’t do anything at this point, so just take your time off and enjoy it. Yah, you should probably check in every so often, but no need to obsess. Lay back, turn your phone off, and enjoy having no responsibilities from school.

When you get a week away from going back:

PLAN. This means get your textbooks, memorize your schedule, and move around any classes before you start. Also, start to get your body used to your necessary sleep schedule. It takes some time to adjust so start that early. Finally, make sure to start to collect everything you are going to want to take home with you.

When you are back at school but classes haven’t started:

PREPARE. Put everything away, wash your sheets and make sure your laundry basket is empty. You will feel way better with all of the chores and cleaning you need to do done so you can focus on your classes. Make sure you have everything you need for your first days and get your final few days of sleep.

First week of Classes:

BREATHE. You totally got this. You’ve done this at least once before so you are more prepared then you have ever been. So, go out and rock this. Don’t like a class? You can drop it and take something else. You can totally crush this week.

Have a great break and spend some time relaxing! Happy Holidays, Zags!
