Counting Our GU Blessings

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gonzaga chapter.

As everyone is getting ready to go home for Thanksgiving, there is a buzz in the air. The excitement to see family, friends and, of course, eat some amazing food is upon us all. Being able to go home is something that not all of us get to do, so appreciating that is very important. But thinking back over this semester so far, it is important to think about all the blessings GU offers us, and to be thankful for those things too.

First things first.. being thankful for the amazing professors that are here at school. Many of the professors are passionate about the subject they teach. They care about each individual student and are open to helping you when you need it. Not all students at other universities are lucky enough to have one-on-one time with their professors.

Second, we have to think about the people who work at the COG. Everyday they are smiling and happy to help us and serve us great food. They do their best to make us enjoy our time here at school because they know how important food is to everyone. Between the people who scan our cards to get in, to the people serving us some great pasta, all of them are kind and caring people.

Lastly we need to be thankful for our families. For many of us, we would not be here without the help of family. They are the true “behind-the-scenes” heroes of Gonzaga. If you get the opportunity to go home, make sure you thank them for the things they have done for you. A hug and a ‘Thank You’ will go a long way.

There is a lot of “behind the scenes” work that goes on here at GU that makes this place as amazing as it is. Enjoy your last week and a half before you go home and think about those who do so much for us here at school. Thanksgiving Break, here we come!
