One of the things Gonzaga students love to do most is go to brunch – many students leave campus on weekend mornings looking for the best new food spots. Though if you’re new to Gonzaga or new to Spokane, finding these little treasures can be a little hard to find especially if you’re in the need of a good waffle!

Chaps:

Chaps is definitely a Spokane treasure. As a little restaurant further out in the Latch neighborhood, this local gem has some of the best Instagram-worthy pastries and coffees on top of their already delicious menu. Dress cute and bring your friends because this modern-vintage style farmhouse is a perfect picture place.

Bruncheonette:

If you’re a big eggs person, the Bruncheonette just off of Kendall Yards is the place to be. With its adorable contemporary vibe and chalkboard design, the Bruncheonette provides a beautiful environment to eat brunch all day, seven days a week. The Bruncheonette is a little hole in the wall but its location is perfect if you want to spend the rest of the day wandering around downtown Spokane, as it’s not too far from the River Park Square Mall.

The Yards Bruncheon:

Yards is another Kendall Yards brunch place that is perfect for a morning with friends. Yards Bruncheon has a beautiful contemporary diner feel with many items on the menu that are twists on classic breakfast foods. You’ll see many Gonzaga students frequenting this location, especially after church! This location is often busy so make sure to go early or later in the morning as the 9:30-11 crowd is rather large and the wait can sometimes be long.

Frank’s Diner:

Frank’s Diner provides amazing atmosphere as the diner itself is in the inside of an old train cart! With American-style breakfast, Frank’s diner is a location that is bustling with history and yummy smells that can be smelt from halfway down the block. This spot is perfect to bring the parents to for Zag Family Weekend!

Madeleine’s Cafe and Patisserie:

Madeleine’s Cafe & Patisserie is arguably the best coffee place in all of Spokane. This brunch location has some of the best mochas, especially if you’re looking for something sweet but not necessarily sugary (i.e. Starbucks). Madeleine’s also has some of the yummiest baked goods, that are baked fresh daily. The best part about this spot is the location – in the heart of downtown – making it a great place to stop if you’re planning a day in town!
