11 Things to Look Forward to Over Break!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gonzaga chapter.

Christmas break is so close I can almost taste it! Once finals end and we can actually think about Christmas, we remember that there are so many fun things to do during this time at home.  Here are 11 things that every collegiette looks forward to doing over christmas break!

1. Decorating the Christmas tree

Decorating the Christmas tree is one of my personal favorite traditions!

2. Baking cookies & desserts with friends and family

Of course, baking is a must do activity during the holidays.

3. Playing in the snow (if your town has any)

Sledding, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, making snow angels, building a snowman or igloo….the possibilities are endless when you have the proper winter attire!

4. Ice skating

Although none of us are probably from NYC, most towns have temporary ice skating rinks they set up during Christmas time. This is my favorite way to stay active over the holidays!

5. Catching up with old friends or your besties who go to different schools

Maintaining relaitionships with people that you used to go to school with or whom you grew up with can be hard. Lucky for us, Christmas break is one month long this year!

6. Smothering your pet(s) with too much love

Be sure to give your animals lots of love when you get home!  They probably missed you!!

7. Going to your favorite restaurant

Because we all have a favorite restaurant in our hometown that we HAVE to go to at least twice while we’re home.

8. Hitting up your fav coffee shop/stand that is only in your hometown

For me, this is Mercury’s coffee! I definitely have an addiction.

9. Driving your car again (if you don’t have it with you at school)

Sometimes not having a car at school can be such a pain! Hello late-night ice cream runs and daytime drives “just because.”

10.  Seeing your siblings again

Through thick and thin, your sibilings have always been there for you because you’re family.  Gotta love family.

11. Feeling “at home” again

No matter how comfortable you are at school, there is just something about being back in your hometown and even in your childhood home.  I think this is what can make the holidays so special.

We are so so close to having all of these things! Let’s power through finals week so coming home to all of this feels even sweeter!

Good luck on your exams, papers and presentations, collegiettes!
