What Your Favorite Holiday Movie Says About You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gettysburg chapter.

1) Elf

You live for the holiday season. Every December 26 you begin another countdown to next Christmas. You are the type of person who starts listening to Christmas music the second you wake up the morning after Halloween (maybe even earlier) and immediately decks out your ugliest Christmas sweater and enough tinsel to decorate the Empire State Building. You keep doing you, no matter what the Scrooges say, and remember:

2) Love Actually

You are the type of person who thinks that the holidays are the most romantic time of year. You always have a sprig of mistletoe handy, and all you want is someone with whom to curl up by the fire. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is your anthem and every Christmas you probably sing it at the top of your lungs while stuffing your face with gingerbread. Hey, we’ve all been there.

3) It’s A Wonderful Life

To you, the holidays are all about appreciating the great things in life, especially your family. You are probably a very nostalgic person, and the holidays bring this retrospection to a whole new level. You’d be a great Ghost of Christmas Past. Just remember that in order to make new memories you need to venture out of your own head for a little while.

4) A Charlie Brown Christmas

You are classic and oh so timeless. While other people go out and buy the flashiest decorations they can find, you revel in the simple and understated. You know that the true meaning of Christmas is spending time with loved ones and appreciating what you have.

5) White Christmas

You probably like to sing. A lot. Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit quite like sitting around the fire and singing some classic carols with family and friends. While things might not always go as you planned, you are very resourceful and can make the best out of any situation. You also know that nothing says Christmas like a fresh blanket of snow.

6) A Christmas Story

You are probably pretty unlucky. You also might have a pretty wacky family. But you are tenacious and willing to do whatever it takes to get what you want. And at the end of the day, you know that the craziness makes life way more fun. Even if you don’t get what you want for Christmas this year, don’t be discouraged. Also, try not to stick your tongue to a freezing pole.
