With fall already here, and Paris Fashion Week finalizing, here are a few ways to add Spring 2017 trends to your already existing style for now and for later. Here is some inspiration for some versatile pieces that will make you super fashionable all year round.

Velvet

Velvet is normally associated with cooler months, but the fabric made it to the always spicy, Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2017 collection featured in New York. Velvet is a timeless fabric that will continue with you for many years past your college career. This subdued crushed velvet tank from Zara will easily pair well under your cozy sweater and then will keep you cool and chic during Spring Fest.

Metallic

Everyone likes a little shine in their life at some point. Small touches of Metallic colors can elevate your look without changing your personal style. Silver was a popular trend on the runway and can pair nicely with your clothes for the upcoming winter holidays. Just a word of caution: less is always more; you never want to be compared to the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz.

Stripes

You can never go wrong with the classic staple that is the pattern of stripes. Design houses such as Milly, Marc Jacobs, and Rag and Bone feature the use of stripes in their collections. Now you can update the use of stripes by experimenting with pinstripes and nautically-inspired stripes. Pinstripes are an excellent way to make your wardrobe look more professional for the internship and job interviews you are destined to have in the spring.

Ruffles

Ruffles were a popular trend this summer and it continues to travel into the fall and spring. The use of ruffles can add some much needed volume and texture to any outfit. I think the trend of ruffles can be a bit daring to some people, but nonetheless it is always good to stand out every once in a while. If you are hesitant about this particular trend, try looking for pieces that have fewer and lighter ruffles.

Coral and Yellow

I think the bright and cheery colors of coral and yellow are normally associated with being a color for the warmer months of the year. Bringing these popular colors into the cooler months can spice up your style and bring some warmth to the drearier weather. These colors were used in collections from Ralph Lauren and Alexander Wang during NY fashion week. If you are looking for some fun to add to your wardrobe, try incorporating coral and yellow pieces.

No matter what, do not be afraid to test out new trends. Fashion is all about expressing yourself, so if you like it…wear it!
