Three Quick Ways to Scrape Together a Mother’s Day Gift

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gettysburg chapter.

So, it’s final week. Everyone has been understandably super busy. We’ve all been cramming for those tests and scraping together essays worth a quarter of our grade. But guess what – Mother’s Day is Sunday. If you haven’t thought about it before now, then don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! Here are a couple of ways to make this Mother’s Day great without searching for a last minute gift.

1. Write her a poem

Tell her about the things you love and appreciate about her. Or, if that’s too cheesy for your usual style, write her something that you think she’d just enjoy. I know this seems like a bit low effort, but, trust me, she’ll love it. Sometimes it’s better to go back to the simpler gifts.

2. Take her out to a meal

Got some time after you’ve packed the car? Have some extra dining dollars? Take her out to lunch or Dinner at Kazue. Or you can wait till you get home. If you don’t want to spend the money, then try making dinner for her. We have some great articles explaining how to make some simple spaghetti if you aren’t as familiar with your way around a kitchen.

3. Bake/Cook with her

Break out Grandma’s recipe then get in the kitchen and bake some cookies together. It may not seem like much of a gift, but she probably hasn’t seen you in a long time, so spending some quality time together can be nice.

The point is to make her feel special and appreciated. So, go out there and appreciate the heck out of the important women in your life…after your finals, of course.
