If you’ve been on social media at all during the pandemic, you’ve come across the coveted “skincare TikTok” or countless Instagram posts about treating your skin well. I’ve struggled with acne-prone skin since elementary school, have been seeing a dermatologist since I was 10, and have used every medication under the sun to help my skin. AND I STILL HAVE ACNE!

So when I started seeing people taking trips to Target and mixing things up, I decided to try it too.

Let me tell you, even just changing up my cleanser has CHANGED MY LIFE!

Here are the products that have been working for me:

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

This stuff is incredible. It comes out as a typical cleanser but when you add water, it starts to foam. It’s very gentle but works well for normal to oily skin. I actually look forward to washing my face with this.

CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum

This stuff is incredible for helping even skin tone and gets rid of dark spots. I have pretty tough skin so I have no trouble with this, but others I know have recommended starting with this product only a few times a week to get your skin acclimated.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

This serum has helped me with redness and general skin tone. I love how light it is!

I love this brand in general – they are super transparent about the ingredients the use and very affordable!

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

This stuff has pretty much exploded online. I use this mask very lightly once a week for chemical exfoliation.

CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion

A moisturizer that doesn’t make my skin oily but is super hydrating? Sign me up! It’s light but it does a great job!
