It’s that time of year again: time to trim the tree and hang the stockings! It’s Christmas time!!! As it’s halfway through December, a lot of us have already started our countdowns, but until the day actually arrives you can distract yourself with some of the best Christmas specials, ones you loved as a kid and even some new ones. Here are our recommendations:
A Charlie Brown Christmas
This classic is always a heartwarmer. Check in on the Peanuts gang as they discover what Christmas is really about. This movie will have you out decorating your dog house and buying the smallest tree you can find.
Home Alone
Christmas time is the time to be with family. Or, in Kevin’s case, all by yourself. There’s nothing funnier than watching an 8-year-old outsmart adult burglars.
The Grinch
Whether you’re watching the cartoon version or the Jim Carrey version, this Dr. Seuss classic will bring you right into the Whoville Christmas merriment. We should all remember that Christmas will come without ribbons, without tags, without packages boxes or bags. Keep this in mind, and just maybe your heart will grow three sizes this day!
A Christmas Story
If you’ve never seen this movie, it’s a must. Between pink bunny suits, Fra-gil-e Italian lamps, tongues stuck to poles, and a “Red Ryder” BB gun, the Christmas shenanigans of young Ralphie and his family are unforgettable.
It’s a Wonderful Life
Get out your tissue boxes. This touching classic follows a frustrated business man when an angel comes to show him what life would have been life if he never existed.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
We all know the song. He had a shiny nose. The others made fun of him. He proved his nose was useful and made them all love him. But unless you’ve seen this classic, you’ve probably never heard of the elf who wants to be a dentist, or the island of misfit toys. This adorable movie is timeless; you’re never too old to enjoy it.
Curl up by the fireplace, make yourself some hot chocolate, and get in the spirit with your favorite Christmas classics!
