With the recent Thanksgiving festivities, we all are familiar with the notion of having too much on our plate— yes, I went there. But juggling a massive number of responsibilities is just an average day in the life of junior Justina Molokwu.

Hailing from Columbia, Maryland, Justina is a psychology and organization and management studies double major with a writing minor. Her favorite part about Gettysburg College is “the accessibility to faculty and administration. You can walk into an administrator’s office to chat and even email the president and actually receive a response.”

Justina exuded passion and spirit when asked about her extracurricular activities. In addition to working a plethora of jobs, Justina is the president of the Diversity Peer Educators, the president of the Gettysburg African Student Association, and a cheerleader. She described being a Diversity Peer Educator as “a rewarding experience. Everyone— the faculty, administration, and students— all have a clear goal in mind as to where the school is headed in terms of inclusion and acceptance. As a DPE, I can provide the foundation for this vision by presenting information and providing training on how to think about these issues.”

When asked about her career goals, Justina fervently responded, “I definitely want to do something with minorities in this country and globally. I want to investigate why the issues are present, what caused these issues to arise, and how to alleviate these problems.” While studying abroad in Denmark, Justina was provided the opportunity to conduct research on “the difference in the gender wage gap between Denmark and the United States. The gap is approximately ten percent smaller in Denmark; I will explore how the cultural differences between the two countries could explain this difference.”

And, very importantly, Justina divulged her favorite Servo cookie flavor. “Definitely the ‘cannibal cookies.’ They’re cannibals because they have little bits of other cookies in them.”
