Over the past two summers, I have worked at a wildlife preserve. Doing this, I encountered lots of animals! Unfortunately I do not have time to work at the preserve during the school year. So instead, I work as a barista! I thought why not combine those two jobs and write about what latte order I think the animals I’ve worked with would be. Let’s get right into it.
1. Capybara – Caramel apple latte
The capybara that I worked with absolutely loved apples, it was always their first pick from the produce bucket. This choice is mostly due to their sweet tooth, hence the caramel addition.
2. Goat – blueberry honey latte
All the goats I worked with had amazing personalities. You could easily tell them apart, in fact all of ours had names. One goat in particular really enjoyed berries, which explains the blueberry portion of the latte. The honey portion comes from the sweet attitudes of the goats. They always came up to me for scratches or pets.
3. common Eland – mint chocolate latte
Elands are the world’s largest antelope. This name is not for their size, though. Male elands have this dark, chocolate-brown hair on top of their head that they like to make look all “nice” for the females. They really care about their personal hygiene almost like they’d brush their own teeth, earning the mint portion of this latte.
4. nilgai – brown sugar latte
Nilgai are Asia’s largest antelope and when I said that goats had sweet attitudes, these guys would be ranked even higher. All the nilgai I worked with were super sweet earning their sugary name. Their fur is also brown throughout their whole body making the brown sugar latte the perfect order.
5. Bison – Carrot cake latte
Our bison will do anything for food. They eat whatever they can get their metaphorical hands on. They particularly enjoyed when they would get any type of produce, but carrots stood out among the rest. Our bison are also a little chubby so the cake name pairs well with their produce-loving selves.
6. North American porcupine – PB&J Latte
Our porcupine absolutely loves food. He particularly enjoys fruits, so that had to included in his latte order. He also loves peanuts, so peanut butter would suite him well!
