So, for those of y’all who don’t know me personally, I am seriously addicted to lipsticks. Specifically dark shades of red. Like, it’s becoming a slight problem.

That being said, I’m not a big lip gloss fan. The biggest thing for me is that I haven’t been able to get over the feel. The stickiness and overall feeling constantly of knowing it is on your lips has always wigged me out.

Almay’s Goddess Gloss really delivered beyond my expectations when I tried it out.

The shade I choose to test was 100 Halo, which is a sort of pearl toned gloss. I’ve been in the market for a pearl shade for a while now, so this was a great start.

Right away, I noticed a smell like vanilla or frosting. It wasn’t the strongest smell, but was distinctive, even when I applied it. If you aren’t a fan of sugary scents, this is not the gloss for you.

The second thing I found was that despite looking green in the bottle, it was almost translucent on application. The only way I could really tell it was there was when I looked closely and noticed the glitter. And then, the glitter looked very pink or red. But overall, it was a completely nude shade, offering only the slightest change in color. I am more of a fan of bold and bright shades, but I found myself liking this one a lot.

According to their website, you can layer this over other lip products, but I didn’t have the chance to try this out (Try it at your own risk). I also noticed that the glitter transferred pretty easily, but most glosses do this, so I don’t really think that that is something that should be held against it.

But the surprises didn’t stop there! After I wiped it off, I found my lips were feeling very moisturized. This is a new one for me as most lip glosses dry my lips out instead of the other way around. Another point for Almay!

All in all, this glitter gloss was not what I was expecting and I was pleasantly surprised! I can firmly say that this will be joining my collection as a staple for quick application.
