A Girl’s Night In: College Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

We all know college is hard. Whether you struggle with dealing with time management, being away from home, or learning good study habits we all have our weaknesses. But that’s where your friends come in to help. Good friends are not only the girls who you go out with every weekend, they’re also the girls who sit at home quizzing you on a class they’re not even in on Friday night when everyone else is out drinking. Sometimes they’re there to help you deal with the boy who just broke your heart. Other times, you guys all just want to be lazy together because you’re too tired, stressed, or broke to do anything else. Having girl time is just a key to getting through college.

In southern tradition we all know the most important part of any gathering is food. This isn’t too hard since we are all broke college students, the expectations aren’t too high. One person may bring a pizza another person brings brownies, and someone, of course, brings the wine (usually the one who can’t cook, we all have that friend). Since most of us have a streaming service we just pull up Netflix or turn on the fire stick and argue for about 20 minutes to find a movie we can all agree on that none of us have already seen. Usually it’s a crappy, low budget straight to Netflix movie but it doesn’t even matter, because the important part is that you’re hanging out with your girls.
