Fall Decor Ideas To Spice Up Your Dorm Room

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

Cold weather, fuzzy socks, UGG boots, and pumpkin spice everything.

Year after year, those staples remain famous essentials for the fall season. But at the end of the day when it is cold and you’ve got your fuzzy socks and UGGs on with your pumpkin spice drink in hand, you’ll most likely spend some time in your room! With these tips you’ll be sure to fall into the fall spirit – every inch of your room at a time…

For your desk/dresser

Garland Leaves. I typically see garlands used as decoration for the Christmas season, but after spotting a picture of garland leaves while scrolling on the internet, I realized that garlands can be used for pretty much any season and garland leaves for fall are no different. Before you decorate for fall, be sure to scroll through Pinterest to find which garland leaves would best fit your dorm! Come on, you know you want to!

For your walls

Fairy Lights. When I spent my time before college watching hours of dorm room tours on Youtube, I would dream about hanging fairy lights in my dorm room. Fairy lights are definitely a fall decor essential for a dorm room – and every other season after that too. No matter how unorganized or undecorative a room may be, fairy lights are sure to add some fall spirit to your dorm room and make it look even cuter in the meantime too! You could even clip a few pictures of you doing some fall activities (at a pumpkin patch, ice skating, etc…) onto the lights to add some bonus festivity to your fairy lights!

For your bed

Fuzzy blankets. So, I guess this isn’t technically a decor item, but it’s cold outside! And you’ll need a fuzzy blanket to go with your fuzzy socks! Plus, wrapping yourself in a big fuzzy blanket like a burrito is definitely a must-do during the fall season.

For your floor

Pumpkins. Pumpkins are some of the main staples people associate with fall. Whether it be anything from pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread or pumpkin carving, pumpkins are the mascot of the fall season. That’s why this would not be an article about fall decor ideas if i did not suggest adding pumpkins somewhere in your room! Pumpkin themed items can consist of rugs, pillows or even actual mini decorative pumpkins. With a variety of different sizes and colors to choose from, you are sure to find a decorative pumpkin that fits your room!

For your door

Fall Wreaths. Wreaths are an easy way to quickly see your room transition into being more in the fall spirit. They also come in many different color combinations so you can easily switch your current wreath out for another throughout the fall to spice up your dorm room all season long. To add your own personal touch to your new wreath, you could also consider making your own. To make your own wreath you will need some leaves, cardboard, a stapler (or hot glue), scissors and a little fall spirit!

The fall festivity does not have to end at your clothing or food, with these tips you can try to add some fall spirit into your dorm room too!
