HC: What organizations are you involved in?
JT: Southern Ambassadors, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Southern Leaders
HC: Could you tell us a little about Southern Ambassadors?
JT: Southern Ambassadors represents Georgia Southern University by giving campus tours to prospective students and guests. We also host special recruiting events like Open House and Scholarship Weekends.
HC: As secretary of ACM, what can you tell us about the goals of the organization?
JT: The Association for Computing Machinery helps students better understand computing by giving them hands-on activities where they can gain practice and experience. ACM is a benefit for anyone looking to professionally work in computing one day.
HC: What about Southern Leaders?
JT: Southern Leaders is a leadership program that helps engage students in an interactive leadership experience throughout their college careers. The Southern Leaders program teaches four certain areas: Self-leadership, collaborative leadership, community leadership and leadership legacy.
HC: How do you keep busy in your leisure time?
JT: I want to be a food blogger, I love traveling and trying new foods. Except anything with olives. I am also a part of the Alternative Break Program that allows us to travel and help out in local, national, or global communities while sacrificing our breaks from school. Oh and I love watching my favorite TV shows like Friends and movies such as Amelie.
HC: What do you hope to accomplish while being a part of all these organizations here at Georgia Southern University?
JT: Coming to Georgia Southern was the best decision ever! My dream is to bring it back to the kids and where it all began. We do that by representing school spirit and giving tours to our future students.
