5 Things to Take from the SOTU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

If you didn’t get a chance to hear Obama’s final State of the Union address (SOTU), you missed some pretty great things. But never fear because we at Her Campus GS are here to give you the scoop of the SOTU 2016.

1)      Paul Ryan is a hater.

Paul Ryan is seriously that friend that hangs out with you but secretly hates you.  His facial expressions were so bitchy.

Here’s one.

And another one (so shady)…

And a close-up. Wow someone needs the ‘lip kit by Kylie.’

2)      Obama is the master of talking about people without saying their name.  Seriously, did you hear how he called out Trump?

But we agree. We do need to “reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion.”

Clearly, the Donald didn’t like  this very much. He immediately took to Twitter to express his opinion.

But guess what Donald? We don’t like the lies you sell us with that hair.

How can we expect you to be an honest president and you expect us not to notice that comb over?

3)      Obama wants us to be better people.  Nowadays, when you go online it’s filled with nothing but negativity and trolls hating on everyone.  We can’t rely on the president to make us better as a nation we have to do it together.

If Obama’s tears for gun control and children didn’t move you, you are heartless.

4)      Obama got old.

Obama had black hair when he came into office. He’s not even salt and pepper he’s all gray now.  Obama should hop on the first flight to Fiji and sip Mai Tais on the beach as soon as his term is over.

Mr. President, what happened?

5)      Michelle Obama looked Fab-U-lous !  Here’s a photo of our darling “first lady.”

She illuminated the room with that orange dress.  We don’t know what we will miss more her elegance or her outfits.

Very soon a new president will be making his or her first SOTU and if you don’t know who you’re voting for don’t beat yourself up.

Because most SANE Americans feel like that.
