Winter break is almost here, that means a few weeks without the responsibilities of classes, internships, and extracurricular activities. But while winter break is great for relaxing and catching up on some much needed sleep after finals, it is also a great time to get a jump-start on next semester. So here are a few tips from Her Campus Georgetown on how to make the most of your winter break!

1. Research Internships

Before you know it the time will come to apply for summer internships. Next semester when you are juggling classes and everything else it will be such a relief to have started the internship hunt.

Over winter break take care of the small things – research the industry you are interested in and update your resume. You’ll be happy to have these things out of the way during the semester.

2. Get Organized

It’s always better to go back to a new semester feeling organized. Do some cleaning, getting rid of the physical clutter in your life can clear your mind. Make some lists and figure out what your goals are for the upcoming semester. You’ll feel better facing the New Year with a clear perspective.

3. Relax

Enjoy the time you have to de-stress. Bake some holiday cookies. Catch up on your favorite TV shows. Watch a movie or two. Spend some time outside. Use winter break to do all the fun and relaxing things you don’t have time for during the semester.

4. See family and friends

Enjoy the time you have to spend with family and friends. With so much time spent away winter break is a great time to catch up with everything that’s new in your friend’s lives, and to spend some quality time with the family

So take some time, prepare for next semester, unwind, and reconnect. Winter break is the perfect opportunity to get a new handle on life!
