It’s Oscar time! The biggest show of the year took place this Sunday and the stars came out in style on the red carpet. First, let’s start with the best looks of the evening before we can all rip into the gowns which were not so successful. A few stylists (cough cough whoever works for Emma Stone) may be out of job come Monday…

Michelle Williams is part of a very select group of women who can pull off a pixie cut. You have to have the right shape face, right amount of femininity and delicacy and enough confidence to chop off inches of your precious locks. Michelle not only has all of these but she also has great taste – she was married to my ultimate celebrity obsession, the late Heath Ledger. She looked gorgeous as always tonight.

Newcomer Rooney Mara, who was so chilling and incredible in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, also stole the show, before the show even began. She usually wears black but I think the white was a great choice for her first Academy Awards. Read about both Michelle and Rooney here:

Unfortunately there may have been more poor dress choices tonight than good. J-Lo went a little too Jenny from the block in this revealing gown:

Gwyneth Paltrow is a woman known for her class, talent and unbelievable bone structure. However, she also has been known (according to our trusted Perez Hilton – http://perezhilton.com/2012-01-01-gwyneth-paltrow-advises-on-hangover-cure#.T0r0qhxOCsY) to come off as a little haughty. I think tonight she may have proved at least some of her critics correct, showing up to the red carpet wearing a cape, yes a cape…

As aforementioned, Emma Stone may need to seek new management in the fashion department. I love this chick and think she is such an adorable, charismatic and most importantly, genuinely funny actress. However, all the hype about her recent style homeruns could have gotten the best of her. She could barely move her neck around that outrageous red bow that seemed to grow as the night went on. Better luck next year Emma, I’m sure your acting chops will get you back to the Academy Awards!

The tweet of the week comes from the wise words of America’s youth, a re-tweet from The Biebs:
