Though Buzzfeed has never failed to entertain me, I also like to spend time scrolling through food blogs and reading about new foods and recipes to try.  After searching high and low, these are my favorites and two that everyone should try out!

Joy the Baker

If you like sugar, butter, or both, you won’t be disappointed by Joy Wilson’s baking blog.  Roughly three times a week, the self-taught baker, Joy, posts some sort of confection that will leave your mouth watering.  In addition to the delectable treats she creates, Joy also posts humorous and confessional blog posts with each recipe.  Read a few and you’ll feel like she’s already your best friend.  Joy’s recipes also vary: some are complex and intricate pastries like her chai-spiced cinnamon rolls, but others are simple things like bourbon-spiked banana bread or peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

While most of what Joy posts is sugar-laden, there are the occasional recipes for sinfully delicious sandwiches like lasagna grilled cheese or heartwarming meals like Spanish chicken and rice.

Whether you enjoy cooking, baking, both, or neither, you’ll find something you like on Joy’s blog.

My New Roots

If you like yoga and salads, this is for you.  But even if you’re just curious about healthy cooking and lifestyles, Sarah Britton’s blog is so inspiring that you’ll soon be planning your next trip to Whole Foods.  With recipes titled “The Best Lentil Salad, Ever” and “The Life-Changing Loaf of Bread,” you should definitely check this blog out.
A lot of the ingredients that Sarah uses are out of the ordinary, to say the least.  But all of them have some sort of health benefit, which Sarah helpfully describes in detail.

The recipes you’ll find on My New Roots are also vegetarian and for the most part, vegan.  But even if you’re a meat lover, don’t let that scare you!  There are so many other great ideas, you won’t even notice that meat is missing.

So once you’ve had your fill of Joy the Baker’s sweet treats, detox with some of the foods on My New Roots.
